August is National Wellness Month, and Cameron Park is the perfect place to celebrate.
This month, we’re celebrating all the ways our classes, programs, and community spaces support your health and well‑being. From energizing fitness offerings like pickleball and modified zumba to restorative aquatics and outdoor recreation, August is the perfect time to build healthy habits that last all year.
Our pool keeps you moving with lap swim and weekend rec swim - providing low‑impact exercise options that boost heart health, mobility, and stress relief. And don’t forget — wellness also means nourishing your body with fresh, local food. The Cameron Park Farmer’s Market, held Fridays from 8 AM–12 PM at the Community Center, brings seasonal produce, artisan goods, and a friendly community atmosphere that makes healthy living easy and enjoyable.
Whether you’re joining a class, diving into the pool, or strolling through the market, Cameron Park CSD is here to help you thrive this August.
Summer continues to be an exciting and productive season for the Cameron Park Community Services District. Following another successful Summer Spectacular that brought thousands of residents together, District staff have remained focused on delivering outstanding recreation programs, maintaining our parks and facilities, and preparing for the transition from summer programming to fall and winter programs. Recreation programs continue to see strong participation, especially in youth camps, swim lessons, and aquatics, while our Parks and Facilities crews have been hard at work maintaining parks, improving irrigation systems, enhancing landscaping, and keeping Cameron Park Lake and our community facilities looking their best.
At the July Board meeting, Directors received updates from every department highlighting the District's commitment to providing high-quality services while responsibly managing public resources. The Board reviewed the District's financial performance, which remains strong as we start to close out the fiscal year. As of June 30, General Fund revenues reached 95% of the annual budget, while expenditures remained below budget at 88%, resulting in a healthy projected year-end operating balance that positions the District well for the new fiscal year. The Board also received updates from the Fire Department that is welcoming Victor Acosta as the new Battalion Chief and is preparing to place its new Type III wildland fire engine into service. The District continues with wildfire preparedness efforts through annual defensible space inspections and community outreach.
As we celebrate National Wellness Month in August, I want to thank our dedicated employees, volunteers, Board of Directors, and community partners for everything they do to make Cameron Park such a special place to live. Whether you are enjoying our parks, participating in recreation programs, attending community events, or benefiting from the essential services provided by our Fire Department and District staff, your support helps make these services possible. We remain committed to investing responsibly in our parks, recreation programs, public safety, and community facilities, and we look forward to another month of keeping Cameron Park healthy, safe, active, and connected.
Our Calendar of Events & Meetings includes opportunities to stay active, learn, and engage. From recreation events to board and committee meetings, August offers something for every age and interest.

Our year‑round, heated pool is a cornerstone of community wellness. As we shift into off‑season lap swim hours — with extended Sunday hours staying in place — it’s an ideal time to enjoy warm water, quiet lanes, and a low‑impact workout that supports heart health, mobility, and stress relief. Swimming is one of the most effective ways to stay active without strain, making it a perfect fit for National Wellness Month.
The Cameron Park Community Foundation (CPCF), a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed to support fundraising efforts for the Cameron Park CSD and the surrounding area, is entering an exciting new chapter of leadership — and we want to honor the incredible work that has brought the Foundation to where it is today.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the outgoing board members, whose commitment, creativity, and generosity helped strengthen community programs, enhance local spaces, and expand opportunities for residents. Their leadership supported meaningful projects throughout Cameron Park, including contributions to parks improvements, recreation programs, community events, and youth initiatives. Past efforts have also helped fund local scholarships, facility enhancements, and community‑building activities, ensuring that donations directly benefit the people who call Cameron Park home.
As the Foundation welcomes new leadership, CPCF is gearing up to expand fundraising activities, build new partnerships, and increase its impact. Events like the Friendsgiving Fundraiser at the CSD have already shown how powerful community generosity can be — and more opportunities are on the horizon. From seasonal fundraisers to targeted campaigns supporting parks, recreation, and community enrichment, the Foundation is ready to grow its reach and deepen its support.
To make this next chapter even stronger, the Foundation is actively seeking volunteers who are passionate about community service, fundraising, event support, or simply helping Cameron Park continue to thrive. Whether you can lend a few hours or take on a larger role, your involvement makes a meaningful difference.
With heartfelt appreciation for the past and genuine excitement for what’s ahead, the Cameron Park Community Foundation looks forward to continuing its mission: supporting the programs, parks, and people that make Cameron Park such a special place to live.

Hello Cameron Park!
August is here and with it, so is the heat. We hope you are all finding ways to keep cool these next two months. This month the CC&R department would like to remind you about our most common issues in the summer months.
Recreational Trips:
Hot weather means recreational trips to cooler climates and water holes to play in.
Please remember to keep your frontage clean and clear while you’re away on trips. When you return, please put your recreational items back in approved storage locations.
We need to remember to store our recreational equipment and not have it sitting out in the frontages of our household.
Our CC&R officer reviews neighborhoods regularly to observe frontage compliance.
Architectural Review (ARC):
If you are planning on exterior improvements, adjusting fence lines or installing a structure like a shed, gazebo or landscape, you need to apply for ARC approval. All exterior improvements or changes to your existing structures require this approval. If you complete a project without ARC approval, you may receive a complaint or violation to correct the project or get your approval at double the review fee. Both will be costly and could result in additional penalties. Applications for your new project are on our website.
ARC & CC&R Committee Volunteers: The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) and the Covenants Conditions and Restrictions Committee (CC&R) have 1 opening on each committee. If you would like to serve your community on a regular committee, please check out our website. The volunteer section will provide guidance on how to get involved and apply.
Enjoy your time out with family and friends and please be safe out there.
