May 2026

May is here, and Cameron Park is blooming with energy! Longer days, warmer sunshine, and the return of all things outdoors make this month the perfect time to explore our parks, jump into new programs, and celebrate the season. Whether you are gearing up for summer fun, enjoying spring events, or just soaking in the fresh air, May brings a little extra sparkle to everything in our community.
The CSD Offices will be closed on Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day (the pool will be open!).
Summer Spectacular wristband sales begin May 4th and can be purchased at the Community Center office, Forklift, and Bel Air!
As I complete my first month serving as General Manager, I want to thank the Board of Directors and the community for their trust and support. It has been a productive start, and I appreciate the opportunity to work alongside our outstanding staff and engage with the community as we continue delivering high-quality services.
Looking ahead, the District remains focused on advancing key projects and initiatives aligned with community priorities. This includes maintaining strong operations, enhancing our parks, facilities, and programs, and upholding a commitment to fiscal responsibility. We will also continue our partnership with CAL FIRE to support emergency response and wildfire preparedness. Transparency, accountability, and open communication will remain central as we continue moving the District forward.
As summer is right around the corner, we have an exciting lineup of community events approaching. I encourage residents to join us for our 25th Annual Summer Spectacular on June 27th, along with a wide variety of youth, adult, and senior programs and activities that bring our community together. These events are a great opportunity to connect with neighbors, celebrate, and enjoy all that our District has to offer.

Good Day, Cameron Park!
Well, we started April with a spring feel and then we received the much-needed rain. True spring is right around the corner!
In this issue, we are going to review CC&Rs. For those that have lived in Cameron Park for years and those that have just moved here, please read the following and share it with your neighbors.
Know your CC&Rs
Cameron Park has over eighty different neighborhoods with different rules specific to those neighborhoods.
These CC&Rs are in place to help keep our home and neighborhood values up and the CC&R office has a specific goal of keeping up our curb appeal. This keeps our neighborhoods from deteriorating.
The commonality of these CC&Rs are as follows.
· CC&Rs in Cameron Park are enforced for curb appeal.
· Failure to comply with your CC&Rs can result in legal action, fees, and/or fines.
· Know the restrictions of your neighborhood.
· Architectural Review Committee (ARC) approval is required for all improvements to your property. This includes fences, house paint, sheds, etc. Even if a county permit is not required, get your approval to eliminate domestic disputes or even removal by order at your own cost.
What we look for and common complaints
· Trailered items - Boats, house trailers, cargo trailers, car trailers, dump trailers, etc. All trailered items are to be stored behind a Cameron Park fenceline or off site.
· Trash and storable items - There should be no unsightly items in your frontage. This includes landscape materials, appliances, trash, and vehicles being repaired.
· Weed abatement in frontages.
· Improvements without ARC approval.
· Illegal livestock such as chickens (not allowed in Cameron Park), roosters, peahens, Guinea hens, and all other livestock may be turned into animal control for removal.
· Unreasonable staging periods – Staging means “a period of time in which your trailered item may be in your frontage before a trip.” Staging for boat trips and trailered items trips are restricted per your CC&Rs. They vary in time periods in which a trailered item can be in your frontage. Review your CC&Rs for staging allowances.
Complaints that are not in our jurisdiction, and where they can be reported
· Domestic disputes – disputes over fence lines, drainage, animals, passenger vehicle parking, back yard activities, back yard storage are all items that are domestic disputes. The CSD will not manage disputes.
· Traffic violations - Contact CHP or the Sheriff department for any speeding in your neighborhood, abandoned vehicles, loud vehicles, unregistered vehicles. Most of the streets in our neighborhoods allow street parking except for the following neighborhoods: Bar J Ranch around the CSD, Eastwood Park and the Airpark.
· Storm water runoff and drainage – Cameron Park has natural drainage in most neighborhoods. Drainage is to be managed by residents. Communication with your neighbors regarding any drainage improvements should take place to eliminate domestic disputes. As a homeowner in Cameron Park, you are responsible for your own drainage.
· Noise ordinance complaints such as parties or construction are not managed by the CSD.
· Commercial properties - the CC&Rs are for residential properties only. We do not manage any issues in our commercial district.
· Homeowner Association (HOA) properties - neighborhoods with HOAs are not within the CSD’s jurisdiction to enforce any issues. You will need to collaborate with your HOA management on any issues in your HOA neighborhood.
· Culvert pipes under roads and vegetation around street signs or around corners are not enforced by the CSD and should be reported to El Dorado County Department of Transportation.
It is important to remember that CC&R enforcement is not law enforcement. El Dorado County has many agencies to manage items outside of curb appeal enforcement.
Architectural Review Committee (ARC)
If you are planning on exterior improvements, adjusting fence lines, or installing a structure like a shed, gazebo, or landscape, you need to apply for ARC approval. All exterior improvements or changes to your existing structures require this approval. If you complete a project without ARC approval, you may receive a complaint or violation to correct the project or get your approval at double the review fee. Both will be costly and could result in additional penalties. Applications for your new project are on our website, and must be received before close of business on the Tuesday before the next meeting to be included on the agenda.
ARC & CC&R Committee Volunteers
The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) and the Covenants Conditions and Restrictions Committee (CC&R) currently have one opening on each committee. If you would like to serve your community on a regular committee, please check out our website. The volunteer section will provide guidance on how to get involved and apply.
Thank you to all our residents that practice diligence in keeping our community so special.
