Lifeguarding Certification with AED/Title 22 Training

The American Red Cross Course combines Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22).
Upon successful completion, participants will earn all certifications required for lifeguard employment in the State of California. Participants must be at least 15 years of age ON or before the final day of the course.

Prerequisites: Participants must complete the swim-tread-swim sequence, which includes 150 yards (not on the side or back; goggles allowed), treading water for 2 minutes using legs only, and completing an additional 50-yard swim. They must also pass the "timed event," which must be completed in 1 minute and 40 seconds. "Timed event" is to swim 20 yards without goggles, perform a surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 lbs object, then swim 20 yards on the back while holding the object with the face above water. Participants must exit the pool without using a ladder or steps.
This Course requires 7 hours of online coursework to be completed before the first day of class. Pre-course login instructions will be emailed before the start date.
