As we move into fall, there continues to be a great deal happening throughout the Cameron Park Community Services District.

At its September 16 meeting, the Board of Directors took action on several items supporting the health, safety, and quality of life of our community. Among these was the adoption of Ordinance No. 2026.09.16, establishing organic waste disposal reduction requirements in support of statewide efforts to reduce organic waste and promote environmental sustainability.

The Board also reviewed concepts for new fire-safety education materials. Wildfire preparedness remains an important priority for the District, and our staff and Fire Department continue working to provide residents with useful information and resources to help keep their homes, neighborhoods, and families prepared.

October also brings several opportunities to get out and enjoy our community. Our Fall Community Clean-Up Day is October 3, giving residents an opportunity to dispose of yard waste, bulky items, and unwanted household clutter. On October 10, the Cameron Park Community Foundation will host Blue Suede Evening – Tribute to Elvis, and one of our favorite fall traditions, The Great Trunk-or-Treat, returns on October 16.

Our Fall/Winter recreation season is also underway, with classes, youth activities, sports, fitness programs, aquatics, and other opportunities for residents of all ages. October is here with colorful fall scenery, cooler days, and plenty of opportunities to connect with your community through the Cameron Park CSD. Here's what's happening this month:

Fall Community Clean-Up Day – October 3:
Mark your calendar for our annual Fall Community Clean-Up Day! Clear out yard waste, bulky items, and garage clutter with help from the CSD and our community partners. It's the perfect opportunity to refresh your property, prepare for the season ahead, and help keep Cameron Park looking its best.

Blue Suede Evening – October 10:
Hosted by the Cameron Park Community Foundation, this rockin' evening features live music, delicious food, and an unforgettable Elvis-inspired performance. Gather with friends and neighbors at the Community Center for a fun-filled night celebrating community spirit and local connection.

The Great Trunk-or-Treat – October 16:
Get ready for a magical evening of Halloween fun! Families are invited to stroll through creatively decorated trunks, collect plenty of candy, and enjoy festive activities including the Dessert & Sweets Walk, Witchy Costume Contest, and the exciting Pumpkin King Plunge. Costumes are encouraged, so come join us for a night filled with treats, laughter, and unforgettable community memories.

Friendsgiving Breakfast - November 14:                                                                                                                                                    Gather with neighbors for a warm and festive Friendsgiving Breakfast. Enjoy great food and good company while supporting Foundation efforts that enhance recreation, parks, and services for residents of all ages.

Recreation Highlights – New Fall Programs & Community Fun

Fall is in full swing, and our recreation programs are already bringing creativity, activity, and community connections to Cameron Park! With many classes underway and others gearing up to begin in the coming weeks, there’s still plenty of time to get involved. From fitness and dance to youth enrichment, arts, sports, and special interest programs, our Fall/Winter lineup offers something for every age and interest. Check out some of our newest offerings and discover a fun way to learn, play, and stay active this season!

Brazilian Samba Dance Feel the rhythm and bring the energy in this vibrant new dance class! Samba is fun, expressive, and perfect for anyone looking to try something new.

Kids Hip Hop Dance Our new Theory Dance Kids Hip Hop classes are here! High‑energy, confidence‑boosting, and a great way for kids to move, groove, and shine.

Ballet for All Ages We’re thrilled to welcome West Coast Dance Arts with new ballet classes for youth, teens, adults, and seniors. Whether you’re stepping into ballet for the first time or returning to the barre, there’s a class for you.

Kids Cooking Class – Cooking with Love Young chefs will learn kitchen skills, food safety, and create delicious dishes in this hands‑on culinary program. A material fee is paid directly to the instructor.

Kids Art Class – Paint Party Pals A colorful, creative new art class where kids explore painting techniques and bring home their own masterpieces. A small material fee applies.

High School Filmmakers Lab Spark creativity and learn the art of storytelling through hands‑on movie‑making fun.

Meditation – The Healing Hour Find calm, clarity, and balance in this new guided meditation program designed to help participants unwind and reset.

Adult 5x5 Basketball League - Hit the court this season in our Adult 5x5 Basketball League! Whether you're looking for friendly competition, a great workout, or a chance to reconnect with the game, this league is a fun way to stay active and meet fellow players in the community. Registration opens October 6, with league play beginning October 27. Gather your team or sign up and get ready for another exciting season of basketball!

DYS Futsal - Registration for DYS Futsal opens October 1! This fast-paced indoor game helps players develop footwork, ball control, quick decision-making, and teamwork in a fun, energetic environment. Whether your child is looking to build skills during the off-season or try something new, futsal is a fantastic way to stay active and engaged.

Fall Break Camps

Looking for something fun and active during school break? Our Fall Break Camps are the perfect solution! Registration is now open for both the CSD Fall Break Camp and Basketball Camp, running November 23-25. Participants will enjoy games, activities, skill-building, and plenty of opportunities to stay active while making new friends. Spaces are limited, so be sure to register early and secure your spot!

The Great Trunk or Treat – Call for Trunkers!

Our biggest Halloween tradition returns on October 16! We’re looking for creative, festive, and fun‑loving community members to host decorated trunks and help make this year’s Trunk or Treat unforgettable. If you love costumes, candy, and community fun, we’d love to have you join us as a Trunker.

Christmas Craft Faire

Get a head start on your holiday shopping at the Cameron Park Christmas Craft Faire! Browse a wonderful selection of unique, handmade gifts, seasonal décor, specialty foods, and one-of-a-kind creations from talented local artisans. It's the perfect way to support small businesses, find meaningful gifts, and enjoy the festive holiday spirit with family and friends.

The Cameron Park Community Foundation continues to move forward with fundraising events designed to support the CSD and build the Community Foundation.  With the goal to strengthen our parks, programs, and community spaces through volunteer leadership and fundraising, this season brings two meaningful ways to support their work.

Blue Suede Evening – Tribute to Elvis

Join us for a lively night of music, dinner, and community spirit as the Foundation hosts Blue Suede Evening, a special fundraiser benefiting Cameron Park CSD programs and facility improvements. It’s a fun, high‑energy way to give back while enjoying an unforgettable tribute to Elvis.

Your enthusiasm, donations, and community spirit helped make the event a success and provided meaningful support for the Cameron Park Lake Revitalization efforts. The Foundation is grateful for every volunteer, attendee, and partner who helped bring this beloved event back to life.

• Administrative Services Analyst -- Our Administrative Services Analyst keeps Cameron Park running smoothly by diving into budgets, polishing financial reports, wrangling contracts, supporting HR, and helping every department stay organized and efficient. If it involves numbers, planning, or making systems better, this role is on it. It’s a dynamic, fast‑paced position perfect for someone who loves problem‑solving, teamwork, and keeping a community moving forward.
• Maintenance Worker I -- Cameron Park CSD is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Worker I to join our year‑round operations team. This role is essential to keeping our parks, facilities, and community spaces safe, clean, and welcoming — and we’re seeking someone who takes pride in hands‑on work that directly supports our residents. Because our parks and facilities are active seven days a week, we especially value candidates with evening and weekend availability. From supporting special events to ensuring our parks are ready for early‑morning visitors, flexible scheduling helps us maintain the high standard of service our community expects.  If you enjoy an active job, have a strong work ethic, and want to be part of a team that keeps Cameron Park thriving, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact. • Lifeguards -- Cameron Park CSD is hiring year‑round lifeguards, and we’re looking for reliable, safety‑minded team members who can support our community outside of traditional school hours. With a year‑round pool, lifeguards play a crucial role in keeping our aquatics programs running smoothly. If you enjoy working with people, value teamwork, and want a flexible position that supports community wellness, this is a great opportunity. Evening, weekend, and off‑season availability is especially important as we continue offering consistent aquatic programming throughout the year.

Cameron Park CSD and Supporting Departments – Understanding Who Does What

Dear Cameron Park Residents,

To better support our community, it’s important to understand the different agencies and departments that serve Cameron Park. Our CSD Office, CC&R Department, and Wildfire Mitigation team have recently experienced a high volume of calls and concerns that fall outside our jurisdiction. The information below will help guide you to the correct agency for your specific needs.

CC&R Department – Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions

CC&Rs apply only to homes located within a CC&R neighborhood. These governing documents outline neighborhood standards and were provided to homeowners during the purchase process. CC&Rs are owned by the residents of each neighborhood and can only be amended through a majority vote of those homeowners.

The CSD assists with CC&R compliance; however, enforcement between neighbors is ultimately a civil matter. CC&Rs help maintain neighborhood appearance and property values by outlining requirements for landscaping, exterior maintenance, parking, and more.

Please note: The CSD does not have CC&R authority within HOA neighborhoods.

Homeowner Associations (HOAs)

HOA communities operate independently from the Cameron Park CSD. Each HOA has its own governing board, rules, and enforcement processes. If you live in an HOA, all concerns, complaints, and project requests must be directed to your HOA management.

HOA residents pay dues to their association and do not pay into CSD CC&R services.

El Dorado County Animal Control

Animal Control manages issues related to pets and livestock within Cameron Park. Key responsibilities include:

• Enforcement of illegal livestock (roosters, peacocks, guinea hens, goats, sheep, etc.)
• Barking dog complaints
• Animal welfare and safety concerns

Regarding chickens: Chickens are not permitted in CC&R neighborhoods, with the exception of one small area on the outskirts of Cameron Park. El Dorado County does not enforce CC&R chicken restrictions; these remain a neighbor‑to‑neighbor civil matter.

Wildfire Mitigation Coordinator

Our Wildfire Mitigation Coordinator oversees weed and rubbish abatement on undeveloped properties during fire season and conducts defensible space inspections required for real estate transactions in High and Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones.

For vegetation, fire hazard concerns, or defensible space questions, please contact this department directly. You may also access the Fire Hazard Severity Zone Viewer to locate your severity zone.
