Monique Scobey
I have lived in Cameron Park since 1995, when I moved here with my husband and three small children. We raised our family here in the community and our children attended Blue Oak School, Camerado Middle School and Ponderosa High School. I grew up in Davis and attended the University of California at Davis where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, my husband and I moved to southern California where I completed my Master of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Southern California while working on the Space Shuttle program. After working in aerospace, our family of five moved to Cameron Park, where I became involved in the community. I served on the Prospector Soccer Club Board for four years (two years as President), joined the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs Chamber of Commerce and served as an Ambassador (earning the Larry Cameron Award), and currently serve on our Home Owner Association Board as President. I operate a Software Engineering Consulting business, providing industrial control software for the optics industry. I have the privilege of working at home, which enables me to walk our community daily. Look for me walking in the morning along Cambridge Road and at Cameron Park Lake and I would be delighted to strike up a conversation with you. I also enjoy playing soccer, backpacking, traveling and cycling. I am excited about serving our community and I love Cameron Park. After I was appointed to the Cameron Park Community Services District Board of Directors in September 2017 and serving a year, I ran for office and was thrilled to be elected to the Board in November, 2018.
