Ellie Wooten is a native of San Francisco, moving to Cameron Park in 2012. She is a resident of the Senior Park at the corner of Green Valley Road and Cameron Park Drive, and actively participates in activities. The Board of Directors appointed Ellie to fill a vacancy in 2017 and she was elected to a four-year term by residents in 2019. Ellie is an Ambassador for the Shingle Springs-Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce, active member of the Newcomers Club, and Chair of the Elks Club Government Relations and Gang Awareness. Before arriving in Cameron Park, Ellie gained a broad background in community service and brings a wealth of experience to her position on the District Board. She was elected Mayor to the City of Merced for two terms; and while Mayor, was instrumental in bringing the University of California to Merced. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recognized Ellie as the Business Woman of the year in 2005. She served as Vice President to the American Legion Auxiliary, Merced Post 83. As a Board member, Ellie is passionate about contributing to Cameron Park, a community that has given so much to her. She welcomes phone calls and emails from residents.
