Information about spraying

During our recent inspection of the Dam by the Department of Water Resources and Division of Safety of Dams, a recommendation was made to “remove tules from the upstream face of the dam”. The CSD is taking immediate action in consultation with DWR and will be spraying the tules on Friday July 28, 2023 starting at 9:00am. The walking trail between the spillway and the Disc Golf course will be closed while spraying occurs

What are they spraying?

In consultation with industry professionals, Clearcast and round-up custom will be sprayed on the tules. These are aquatic safe for the animals and water, safe for pets and people.

What is the impact?

Community members who visit the lake will see the vegetation begin to die. In 4-6 weeks, the vegetation will be cleared from the area
