The Cameron Park Fire Safe Council is collocated inside Fire Station 89 at 3200 County Club Drive.  Fire Safe Council staff is generally available to assist normal and routine business Tuesday thru Thursday 8:00am to 2:00pm.  The Fire Safe Council can be contacted for questions and appointments at (530) 672-7358.  Fire Prevention Assistant Richard Krek can also be contacted by email at richard.krek@fire.ca.gov.

El Dorado County Fire Safe Chipper Program
Curbside chipper program is available for residents within El Dorado County. This program is for improved parcels only. If you would like to sign up for the chipping you can go to the El Dorado County Fire Safe website at www.edcfiresafe.org  and fill out a request. If you have any questions please call the Cameron Park Fire Safe Council at (530) 672-7358.

 

Green Waste Dumpers Cameron Park has a green waste bins at Station 89 3200 Country Club Dr. This is for the residents of Cameron Park only.

 

Fire Hazard Abatement Order

 

The fire hazard in Cameron Park is seasonal and reoccurring and shall be abated each year before June 15th. It is the responsibility of each property owner to provide and maintain a “Fire Safe” environment for the protection of their own property with the ultimate goal of minimizing the community’s risk of a catastrophic wildland fire. At the direction of the Weed and Rubbish Abatement Ordinance (#2010.3.17), you are herby required to comply with the Cameron Park Unimproved Parcel Guideline. Failure to respond will result in a citation as well as the collection of cost for third party clean up of your property.

  • Parcels two(2) acres or less shall be completely treated by mowing of the weeds, removal of the brush and limbing of trees up to 10 feet.
  • Parcels greater than two (2) acres or multiple contiguous properties under the same ownership shall install a 30 foot wide fuel break free of combustible vegetation around the perimeter.

Check out the residential lot on the corner of Cambridge Road and Sandhurst Drive for a good example of what a vacant lot with good clearance should look like.
A Fire Safe Garden was recently completed at Fire Station 89.  We encourage the public to stop by and check it out.  Special thanks goes out to Eagle Scout Brandon Becker for his hard work and dedication to helping and improving the community with this Eagle Scout project.
